Itinerary
Day 1
This park was the first to be established in Kenya in 1946, covering an area of 117sq km it is located 10km South-west of downtown Nairobi. With over 400 species of birds recorded within its perimeter, it makes Nairobi the birdiest city in the world. We make an early start into the park to look for, Curlew Sandpiper, Common Buzzard, Booted Eagle, Lesser-spotted Eagle, Little Sparrow hawk, Black-chested Snake Eagle, Martial Eagle, Northern Hobby, Montagu’s Harrier, Yellow Wagtail, Northern wheatear, Thrush Nightgale, Tree Pipit, Spotted flycatcher among others. Overnight Nairobi.
Day 2
After an early breakfast we drive to Lake Nakuru and arrive their in time for lunch. In the afternoon, we shall visit the shallow alkaline lake shore to have a close-up view of the greatest ornithological spectacles in the world, over one million flamingos and other shorebirds that cover 80% of the lake. Other birds to be seen includes Kittlitz’s Plover Great White and Pink-backed Pelican, Spur-winged Geese, the rare Grey-crowned Helmet-shrike, Malachite Kingfisher, Arrow-marked Babbler, Bearded Woodpecker, Mottled Swift, White-shouldered Cliff Chat, Green-wood Hoopoe, Hildebrandt’s and Coqui Francolins, Rufous-naped and Fawn-coloured Larks.

Day 3
From Lake Nakuru we head North-west towards the fresh water Lake Baringo with a stopover near the Menengai crater, here we find the Brown Parisoma and Brown Snake-Eagle in the surrounding farm lands. At Lake Baringo and its environs, we search for rare species restricted to the north-western part of the country including Hemprich’s and Jackson’s Hornbills, Heuglin’s Courser, Nubian Nightjar, Brown-tailed Rock Chat, Northern Grey Tit, Gambaga flycatcher, Mouse-coloured Penduline Tit, Beautiful Sunbird, Bristle-crowned Starling, Jackson’s Golden-backed, Little and Northern Masked Weavers. In the evening we visit several sites looking for Verreaux’s, and Spotted-Eagle Owls.

Day 4
After an early breakfast, we shall take a boat trip close up view of Hippos as well as the crocodile population. Birds likely to be encountered on this boat ride includes White-faced and Fulvous Whistling Duck, Green-backed and Goliath Heron, Little and Dwarf Bittern, African Fish Eagle, Water Thicknee Pygmy Falcon, White-crowned Shrike, Ruppell’s Long-tailed Starling, Nubian Woodpecker and Rufous Chatterer among others.

Day 5
After an early breakfast leave for Nairobi arriving early afternoon. Transfer to a day room. Evening transfer to airport for onward trip.

Depending on flight plans we can bird around Nairobi until the evening in time for your drive to the airport for your onward flight.
