Dominic
Founder & CEO, Birding Expert
Dominic, born and raised in central Kenya, developed a passion for birds at a young age. In 1996, he co-founded Friends of Kinangop Plateau, a pivotal organization dedicated to conserving the endangered birds and supporting local communities. With an MSc in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and currently pursuing PhD in Environmental Biology, Dominic has led numerous Earthwatch expeditions in the Rift Valley. For 16 years, he was a research scientist at the National Museums of Kenya, fostering a deep connection with nature. In 2012, he founded Kenya Wild Step Safaris, officially registering the company in 2019.
Mary
Co-founder, Seasoned Host & Chef
Mary’s passion for hospitality began early in life, and she has since delighted many clients with her exceptional culinary skills and warm hosting. With extensive experience in catering to diverse clientele, Mary co-founded Kenya Wild Step Safaris with Dominic and now serves as a co-director, ensuring every guest receives a memorable experience.
Steve
Tour Guide
Steve, a passionate and highly skilled safari tour guide, joined Kenya Wild Step Safaris in 2020. With deep expertise in East African safaris and extensive training, he expertly showcases Kenya’s cities and national parks. His background as a defensive driver gives him a significant edge when navigating remote areas, ensuring a seamless and safe experience for our clients.
